nicky silber

they/them

nicky began their foray into creative game development as a writer’s assistant at Telltale Games, where they learned about successful interactive narrative directly from the masters. since Telltale’s closure, they have worked for a number of years as a writer for mobile games, recently completed work on Borderlands Echovision Live, and are currently working as the Senior Narrative Designer on an indie game focusing on gender,

as a non-binary, queer, person of color they bring an essential point of view to the games they work on.

"Games should be for all people and yet for too long they have been made by and for a limited demographic. As the newest generation discovers games for the first time, it is essential that their first encounter be with games that welcome them, embrace them for who they are, and not alienate them. We have a duty to teach them that games are not only an acceptable, enjoyable hobby, but that they are also a future, a career path, and a way of life. "

nicky has made it their life’s mission to bring visibility of minority demographics into games, so that these newer generations see themselves represented in a way that they never had a chance to when they were growing up.
